Mahjong 101
Perfect for anyone who has never played before. Our classes are designed to make Mahjong feel approachable, social & fun.
Using a building block approach, we’ll start with the basics: understanding the game’s components, reading the card, setting up the table & table etiquette. We will end with a game (or two) to put your new skills in action.
By the end of our session you will feel comfortable with the general flow and rules of the game and will be ready for more!

Mahjong 102
Perfect for those who have taken our 101 class or a beginner lesson elsewhere and want to expand their knowledge and gameplay.
First we’ll review the basics, then dive deeper into strategy, card comprehension and the Charleston. As we set up and play full games, our instructor will guide and advise you through different lines on the card.
By the end of our session you will feel comfortable with the tiles, the rules, reading the card and executing the Charleston. You’ll be ready to sit down at a beginner table and play!

Looking to give it a go on your own but would like a little guidance nearby?
Try our Guided Play sessions located under our Open Play. Guided Play participants are seated together, with an instructor on hand to answer questions about individual hands and the table as a whole, guiding the game forward.
